New Flightradar24 ADS-B Receivers Activated in December and 2017’s Final Tally

In December we activated nearly 100 new Flightradar24 ADS-B receivers and hundreds more people around the world built their own receivers to contribute data to our network. These receivers and tens of thousands of others helped us track 4.5 million flights this month.

We activated 10 new receivers in Africa this month, including two in Tanzania and receivers in Libya, Ghana, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Receivers in southern Turkey are providing good coverage in the eastern Mediterranean. Other receivers around the world continue to fill in small coverage gaps and bring the altitude at which we maintain MLAT coverage nearer to the ground.
