Flightradar24 App Updates: User Feedback Edition
The latest version of the Flightradar24 app is now available in the App Store and in the Play Store. In this update we added a bunch of often requested features, beginning with arrival terminal, gate, and baggage information. We also added new ways to display precipitation layers, ATC boundaries, and the ability to apply to host a Flightradar24 ADS-B receiver in the app. Update to the latest version for your device to take advantage of these great features today!
We know many of you use the app to track flights you’re meeting at the airport and one of the most-requested features for the app is the ability to view arrival information like Terminal, Gate, and Baggage Claim. We’ve been listening and we’re happy to say that information is now available in the app. Arrival terminal, gate, and baggage information comes from third party providers, so not all flights will have information available at first, but we’re continuing to source additional data to expand the feature to flights worldwide.
To see arrival terminal, gate, and baggage information, find and tap on the flight you’re interested in. Then tap ‘More info’, then tap More [Flight Number] Information. In this panel you’ll also see the flight’s great circle distance and average flight time over the past 30 days.
Precipitation layer opacity
One user wrote to us and asked if we could make the precipitation layers more transparent. That was a great idea, and we did one better and now let you choose the opacity of your precipitation layers. Select any value between 20% and 100% opacity using the slider for Total precipitation and Intense precipitation. To activate or adjust the precipitation layers, tap Settings, then tap the Weather tab.
FIR and UIR boundary colors
A number of users asked if we could add a setting to change the colors of the FIR and UIR boundaries used to denote areas of air traffic control responsibility. And so we did exactly that. You can now choose from red, green, or blue boundary lines.
Add ADS-B coverage
You can now apply to host one of our ADS-B receiver kits right in the app! From the main map screen, tap More, then tap Add coverage to begin your application.
